Stationery printing

When PerfectTablePlan prints stationery from the Stationery pane, it tries to print millimeter perfect. So the printing will align correctly with pre-scored place cards or other stationery. In the move from PerfectTablePlan v5 to v6 there was a change in a third party library that caused the stationery printouts to move a few millimeters down and right on some printers. We missed that in testing. Sorry. The issue should be fixed in v6.0.1.

However we would like to take this opportunity to point out that printers do not necessarily print exactly where PerfectTablePlan tells them to. You can usually improve things by calibrating your printer (Google " calibration") and being careful about feeding the paper in. But you still can't expect your printer to be millimeter perfect. Also there is usually a 5 to 10 mm margin around the edge of the paper that most printers can't print inside. So:

  • Don't print right to the edge of labels/cards.
  • Don't print borders or fold lines or pre-scored stationery (e.g. Avery place cards).
  • Don't try to print too close to the edge of the page.

If necessary you can adjust the print position using the 'fine adjust' controls.

If you are still having issues see how to align printing with my stationery.

Order of precedence seating

PerfectTablePlan's automatic seat assignment seats guests by proximity (e.g. A near B but not near C). This generally works well for less formal events such as weddings, charity galas and business dinners. But it may not be appropriate for more formal events, such as Military and diplomatic events. So we have added some extra features in v6 to make order of precedence seating easier. To find out more see the help article Assign seating by order of precedence.
