PerfectTablePlan v6 now available
PerfectTablePlan v6 is now available. It is the first paid upgrade since we put out v5 way back in 2012. We have added *lots* of improvements, including:
- substantially rewritten to work with the latest libraries and operating systems
- multiple levels of undo/redo
- edit the properties of multiple tables in a single operation
- use rich text for names in your floor plan
- multi-level sorting of guests
- filter guests by RSVP and assignment status
- 2 step import, to make it easier to correct import errors
- import multiple guests per row in multiple columns (e.g. main guest and spouse in separate columns)
- draw lines on your floor plan, e.g. to represent walls
- store everything (including your preferences) on a portable device, such as a USB stick
- animated auto-assignment, so you can see how the auto seat assignment is doing
- drag and drop resizing of the floor plan
- add or remove a single seat (no more 'moving seat' problems on E-shaped tables!)
- remove empty seats and tables in a single operation
- improved use of space for guest names in the floor plan
- optionally hide empty seats in the floor plan
- optionally sort titles by rank (rather than alphabetical order)
- list standard suffixes
- better handling of 'particules' (e.g. the 'da' in 'da Vinci')
- improved support for high resolution displays on Mac and Windows
- support for serpentine (curved) tables
- customizable guest names layouts in the floor plan (e.g. "{last}, {first} - {custom}" )
- a new table layout tool for creating many different types of table layout
And that's just the highlights.
Many of the improvements have come from customer suggestions.
We have been beta testing the software with customers for the last few weeks and the feedback has been very positive.

V6 upgrade FAQ
I have an existing licence. How much will it cost to upgrade?
If you purchased a v5 licence on or after 8th July 2018, then your upgrade is free. You should have already received a free v6 upgrade licence in an email. If not, check your spam folder or have it resent.
If you purchased a licence before 8th July 2018 then you get a 60% discount on the price of a new licence. You can upgrade from any version to version 6, even version 1! You must upgrade to the same edition, e.g. v5 Home Edition to v6 Home edition.
How do I buy an upgrade?

How do I prove I am entitled to an upgrade?
Copy and paste your version 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 licence key into the 'Old license key' field during checkout. You can get your licence key by either:
- selecting Licence>Licensing... in the version of PerfectTablePlan you currently have installed; or
- inputting your email address into our online key retrieval system
Can I also upgrade to a higher edition?
Yes. After you have purchased a version upgrade (e.g. v5 Home edition to v6 Home edition) you can then purchase an edition upgrade (e.g. v6 Home edition to v6 Advanced edition).
How do I upgrade multiple licences or an organizational licence?

Can v6 read plans from earlier versions of PerfectTablePlan?
Yes. It will even read plans from PerfectTablePlan v1! Plans created on Windows and Mac are also interchangeable.
Will v6 install over the top of earlier versions of PerfectTablePlan?
No. It won't affect earlier versions of PerfectTablePlan or any plans you have created. For example, you can have both PerfectTablePlan v6 and v5 installed, licensed and running at the same time on the same PC/Mac.
Do I need v5 installed on the computer I install v6 on?
No.
Do I have to uninstall earlier versions of PerfectTablePlan before I install v6?
No. You can if you want to. Or you can leave them installed. Given that they use minimal disk space (each version uses about the same disk space as 20 digital photos), we tend to leave them installed.
Is there anything I need to do before installing PerfectTablePlan v6?
We recommend you always back-up any important plans (e.g. to CD, memory stick or another hard drive) before installing or uninstalling PerfectTablePlan.
What operating systems are supported?
- Windows: Windows 10, 8 and 7.
- Mac: macOS 10.14, 10.13, 10.12, 10.11 and 10.10.
PerfectTablePlan might still work on Windows Vista and XP. But we didn't test it on those operating systems. PerfectTablePlan won't work on macOS 10.9 or earlier.
Can I try before I buy?
Absolutely! You just won't be able to save, print or export plans with more than 30 guests until you buy an upgrade to v6.
How long will it take me to download, install and start the free trial?
Less than 30 seconds. We timed ourselves. It might take you a little longer if you have a slow Internet connection or a teenager upstairs downloading movies.
How stable is the new version?
It has been heavily tested by us and beta tested by over 100 customers for nearly a month. It has proved to be very stable.
If I upgrade now, what additional features will I get in future releases?
You will get every update we release for your edition of PerfectTablePlan, until we release v7. So there is no reason to delay your purchase.
Can I buy a CD with v6 on?
No. We no longer sell CDs. But you can download the software and burn your own CD.
Is there a money back guarantee?
Yes, our standard 14-day money-back guarantee also applies to upgrades.
Why doesn't PerfectTablePlan recognize my new v6 licence key?
Did you download and install v6? v5 won't recognize a v6 key.
What if I decide v6 isn't for me?
Just carry on using your current version. We might have a little cry, but we'll be fine. Really.
