The following enhancements have been made since version 4.1.2:
Windows and Macintosh
All editions
1. Table spacing guides can now be displayed in the Floor plan pane. These transparent overlays can help to show where tables have been placed too close together or too far apart. You can set the colour, the level of transparency and how far the overlay projects from table sides with seats and table sides without seats. Press the button again to toggle the guides off. [Added in v4.2.0]
2. There is now a magnification cursor setting in the Floor plan pane. When this button is depressed the area under the cursor is magnified. This allows you to look at the details of a plan without having to zoom in. The size of the magnification area and the level of magnification are configurable. Press the button again to toggle the zoom cursor off (closing the floating window does not turn the magnification off). [Added in v4.2.0]
3. You can show a mark next to a guest in the Floor plan pane when you place the cursor over that guest in the Guests or Groups pane. This can be useful to quickly see where each guest is seated. Check/uncheck mark guests in Floor plan pane to turn this feature on/off (click the more/reveal button to show the checkbox). This feature is only available when Guests or Groups pane is visible at the same time as the Floor plan pane. [Added in v4.2.0]
4. Guests now have an additional Suffix field. This can be used for post-nominal titles (e.g. PhD), job titles (e.g. Director of Sales) and roles (e.g. Master of Ceremonies). There are also additional name orderings Title F. Last Suffix and Title First Last Suffix. [Added in v4.2.0]
5. You can now control whether searching in the Guests pane searches just guest name columns (as previously) or all columns, including custom fields. Choose from the Search in drop-down list to control where to search (click the more/reveal button to show the checkbox). Searching all columns is now the default. Hidden columns are not searched. Searching just names is a little faster. [Added in v4.2.0]
6. The Floor plan pane now auto scrolls if you drag a guest to any edge of the pane. [Added in v4.2.0]
7. If you have a circular table that is bigger than the auto size, you can group all the seats together, instead of spacing them evenly. This can be useful for sweetheart and cabaret style seating used at some types of events. [Added in v4.2.0]

8. The following additional items of substitution text are now available in the Stationery pane:

9. When you hover over a table the names of the assigned guest are now shown in the tooltip. This allows you to see assigned guests without zooming in. [Added in v4.2.0]
10. Column widths are now remembered and restored in the Guests and Groups panes. [Added in v4.2.0]
11. An include in print/export check box has been added to the Dimensions window. This gives you the option on whether to include grid lines when you print or export the floor plan. Grid lines are not printed/copied/exported by default. [Added in v4.2.0]
12. You can now import a Num. in group column. This allows you to specify the total number of guests in a group. For example, if the guest is "John Smith" and Num. in group field is 4 the guests "John Smith" and 3 anonymous guests will be added to make 4 (all in the same group). this is different to the Num. guests column, which says how many anonymous guests to add, in addition to any named guests. You can import either a Num. in group or a Num. guests column, but not both. [Added in v4.2.0]
13. A How do I? help page and import mapping has been added to assist importing friends from Facebook using http://apps.facebook.com/friendstocsv/. This should make it quicker to create a guest list if you are a Facebook user. [Added in v4.2.0]
14. When trying to work out gender, VIP status etc from titles during import, PerfectTablePlan will now try ignoring ‘.’ (fullstop) characters if it can’t find a match using the ‘.’ characters. For example, it will match an imported title “Mr.” to a pre-defined title “Mr” and vice versa. [Added in v4.2.0]
15. If the Guests drop-down list is set to Seat number (previously Seat reference) in the Floor plan or Table plan panes the seat number is now shown whether a seat is assigned or not (previously it was only shown for assigned seats). [Added in v4.2.0]
16. The Import toolbar button has been moved from the main toolbar to the insert toolbar. [Changed in v4.2.0]
17. A Paste key button has been added to the Licence window to make it easier to paste your licence key. [Added in v4.2.0]
18. The Apply button has removed from the Import data window to improve usability (many users found having both OK and Apply confusing). [Removed in v4.2.0]
19. PerfectTablePlan is now faster at unassigning large numbers of guests. [Changed in v4.2.0]
20. You can now Undo changes to the title or footer in the Guest chart and Table chart panes. [Added in v4.2.0]
21. Additional balloon tips, ‘How do I?’ help pages and improved hint text have been added. [Added in v4.2.0]
22. Additional documentation has been added to the help on handling various example import formats. [Added in v4.2.0]
Macintosh only
23. The crash reporting now works for Mac OS X 10.6. [Added in v4.2.0]
Advanced & Professional editions
1. Each custom field of type tags now has an additional multi-line substitution text. For example, if you create a custom field ‘languages’ of type tags the insertion texts {languages} and {languages_multi_line} will be available. The multi-line variant lists each tag on a separate line. [Added in v4.2.0]
2. Seats now have flexible numbering. You can number seats either:
- sequentially: clockwise or anti-clockwise from any start number; or
- custom: use any number or letters
Thanks to the many people that suggested this. [Added in v4.2.0]
Professional edition only
1. Click on the Renumber/rename tables button at the top of the Floor plan pane to make the Renumber/rename tables window appear. Each table clicked on in the Floor plan pane will then be renamed according to the values in the window. Close the window when you have finished. [Added in v4.2.0]
