PerfectTablePlan v4.2.7 released

We have taken some time off from working on v5 to fix some bugs in v4.
PerfectTablePlan v4.2.7 is now available. It fixes 11 bugs, including 2 bugs that can cause a crash. There are no new features.

We recommend that all v4 users upgrade to v4.2.7. It is a free upgrade for all users with a valid v4 licence (we aren't going to make you buy v5 just to get bug fixes).

To find out which bugs have been fixed, please go to this page.

Note that installing v4.2.7 won't overwrite previous versions of PerfectTablePlan.

Exporting to iPad

iPadPerfectTablePlan is available on Windows and Mac OS X. Currently it does not run on iPad, which is a completely different platform. However you can export PDFs from PerfectTablePlan and send them to your iPad.

Probably the slickest way to do this is by installing DropBox on your PerfectTablePlan computer and on your iPad (the basic plan is free). This will then seamlessly sychronize changes. But you can also email PDFs to your iPad or use iTunes + the iBooks app to sync from computer to your iPad (thanks to Peter D for the latter suggestion).

Licensing questions

We get quite a few questions about PerfectTablePlan licensing. Most of them are answered on our FAQ page:

Q. Can I install my licence key on another machine?

Q. Can I share my licence key with someone else?

Q. Can I transfer my licence to someone else?

Q. I’ve lost my licence key, can you re-send it?

Q. What upgrades am I entitled to when I purchase a licence key?

Q. Can I buy a single licence for my whole organization?

NB/ We can spell. In UK English licence is a noun and license is a verb.

Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.8

We have done some preliminary testing of PerfectTablePlan v4.2.7 on pre-release versions of the new Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.8 operating systems. No problems were found.

PinterestPinterest

Pinterest is a rapidly growing free online service for organizing images. It lets you easily create 'pinboards' of images and share and discuss images with other Pinterest users.

We have been experimenting with Pinterest  and are impressed by how well it works. You can check out our Pinterest account for inspiration on all things relating to table planning:

Doing it the hard way

This is apparently how they do the seating arrangements for the Emmy awards ceremony. Some planners seem to like doing things the hard way.
