PerfectTablePlan v4.2.5

We have snuck in another release before we start on v5 in earnest.

PerfectTablePlan v4.2.5 is now available. It fixes 5 bugs and adds 9 minor enhancements. It is a free upgrade for all users with a valid v4 licence. Changes include:

  • Hold down the shift key to only show proximity lines for selected tables/guests in the Floor plan and Table plan panes (instead of showing for all guests). This makes the proximity visualization usable for large events.
  • Select File>Find to search your computer for plan (.tp) and backup (.tpb) files. This allows you to quickly find missing plan files.
  • A Last modified column has been added to the Most Recently Opened window. You can now also sort the plans by clicking on the column headers. This allows you to easily track which plans are most recent.
  • Import mapping added for weddingtoolbox.com.
  • Fixed a bug in the automatic layout of tables in the Floor plan pane.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause “Mr & Mrs J Smith” to be imported at “Mr J S mith” and “Mrs mith”.
  • Fixed a bug exporting non-clockwise seat numbers in guest data.

We are making this release available to newsletter readers before we release it more generally. Please email support if you find any bugs, so that we can fix them ASAP.

Please note that installing v4.2.5 won't overwrite previous versions of PerfectTablePlan.

Eventcountdown.com

countdown clockWe have created a new website at  www.eventcountdown.com . This contains free clocks you can use to count down the days, hours, minutes and seconds to your next event.

There is a web countdown clock that you can use from any web browser (including mobile phones and tablets with web access) and a Windows countdown clock you can download onto your Windows PC desktop.

We have set up a few clocks for popular forthcoming events:

But you can personalize the countdown clock text, date and time for your own event. For example you could set up a web countdown clock for your next event and then include a link to it on your website or email the link to friends. Try it - it only takes a few seconds to set up and we would be grateful for any links.

This is just a rough first version of the website. We will be improving it over time. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.

The voice of experience

"What’s the worst thing that can happen with your job? You seat someone at the wrong table? Big deal!” Well, if you’ve been there, you know that it is a BIG deal."

San Francisco based event planner WilsonWest has some useful tips for seating corporate events. For obvious reasons, we like their last suggestion best.
