PerfectTablePlan v4.0.0 available for testing

PerfectTablePlan v4.0.0 is now available for Windows and MacOSX. This release has over 30 enhancements and new features. The major changes include:

Import directly from Excel .xls and .xlsx files (Windows only, you need to have Excel installed). Oval tables. Semi-circular tables. Rows of seats (without tables). Optional realistic chairs and place settings. Angled text for banquet seating. Print or export all tables from the Table plan pane in a single operation. Export stationery to PDF. Export to custom size PDFs. Paste into Word button for the Table chart and Guest chart panes (Windows only, you need to have Word installed). Application icon flashes (Windows)/bounces (Mac) when automatic seat assignment completed.

It can read plan files from any previous version of PerfectTablePlan.

v4.0.0 is not yet available for sale. The purpose of this test ('beta') version is so that you let us know about any bugs that we didn't pick up in testing. 

If you would like to try v4.0.0 please use the temporary licence key below (valid until 18-Sep-08):

To use the key download and install v4.0.0 and:

• Click the Enter licence button when the Unlicensed software window appears.
• Copy and paste the key above into the Key field.
• Click OK.

You can also add the key by selecting Licensing>Licence... from the main window menu bar.

We expect to fix bugs found in v4.0.0 and release v4.0.1 for sale within the next 1-2 weeks. v4.01 will be announced in the next newsletter.

Upgrades

If you purchased PerfectTablePlan v3 within the last 3 months we will be sending you a free upgrade to PerfectTablePlan v4 in the next few days. 

If you purchased PerfectTablePlan more than 3 months ago you can upgrade to v4 for just £7.95/$13.95/€11.95 as soon as it is available for sale. Details on how to purchase an upgrade will be sent to you in the next newsletter.

Report a bug in v4.0.0 and get a free upgrade!

Despite our best efforts, it is nearly impossible to find every single bug in thousands of lines of code running on 5 different operating systems. Especially when we have added lots of new features. Please help us to improve PerfectTablePlan by reporting any bugs or problems with v4.0.0 .

If you report a bug in v4.0.0 you may get a free upgrade (or a free licence for a friend, if you are already entitled to a free upgrade). The conditions are:

• Your report must be emailed to us by the end of 18-Sep-08.
• The bug must cause a serious problem, e.g. crash the software or cause incorrect results.
• We must be able to reproduce the bug here. Please send any crash reports that PerfectTablePlan creates. A step-by-step description of how to reproduce the bug would  be a big help. A screenshot may also be useful.
• You must be the first person to report that bug.
• Our decision on the above is final.
