This release adds bug fixes to version 4.2.5. You will require a version 4 licence key to unlock the full functionality. You can buy a licence key here (or upgrade from a previous version here). This upgrade is free to all customers with a valid v4 licence key.
We recommend that you back-up any important plan files before installing any new release.

Backward/forward compatibility
|
|
|
|
This version can read plan (.tp) files saved by any earlier version of PerfectTablePlan. But reading 4.2.6 plans into versions of the software before 4.2.0 may lose some data.

PerfectTablePlan runs on Windows 2000 or later and Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. More detailed system requirements are here.

Bug fixes

The following bug fixes have been made since version 4.2.5:
Windows and Macintosh
All editions
1. We introduced a bug in v4.2.5 that meant the when PerfectTablePlan laid out tables these positions weren’t ‘remembered’ (you needed to move them manually for the position to be remembered). Consequently if you saved the plan and then re-opened it all the tables were stacked one on top of each other. This is now fixed. Thank you to Debe, May, Norman, Tyrone and Neville for reporting this. [Fixed in v4.2.6]
2. Other applications are not always able to handle Unicode characters in .csv files. For example Excel 2007 for Windows seems to have problems with Unicode .csv files, putting all the text into a single column. So we now give an option to convert any Unicode characters to ASCII when exporting to .csv. Thank you to Yoon for reporting this. [Fixed in v4.2.6]
3. In Name only (banquet) mode names with large fonts could sometimes overlap the table (see below). This is now fixed. Thank you to Phil for reporting this. [Fixed in v4.2.6]

Installation and use
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

- If you are already running PerfectTablePlan, close the application now.
- Right-click on the link above and select Save Target As... (IE), Save Link As... (FireFox) or Save Link Target As... (Netscape).
- Select a convenient location on your PC to download the file to (e.g. the desktop).
- When the file has finished downloading on to your PC, double-click on the .exe file to install it. If a Do you want to run this file? window is displayed click Run.
- Follow the installer instructions. We recommend installing the software into the same folder as any previous versions (usually C:\Program Files\PerfectTablePlan if you have Administrator or Power User privileges). If you have any problems with the installation please consult the Windows installer troubleshooting page.
- To run the new version double-click on the shortcut (optionally) added to the Windows Desktop or select the shortcut added to the Windows Start menu.

This installation does not overwrite earlier versions, which will still be available until uninstalled through Start>Control Panel>Add or remove programs.

- If you are already running PerfectTablePlan, quit it now.
- Click on the link above, the disk image file should start downloading.
- If the contains an application warning appears, click on Continue.
- Click on the Agree button of the licence agreement window to accept the licence and continue.
- A PerfectTablePlan image should now have been downloaded (probably on to your Mac OS X desktop). If it isn’t open already, double click on the downloaded image file to open it.
- Drag PerfectTablePlan.app to your Applications folder (you can use the shortcut in the install folder).
- The PerfectTablePlan samples folder contains some sample table plans and stationery templates. Optionally copy them to your Documents folder (you can use the shortcut in the install folder).
- To run the new version double-click on the PerfectTablePlan .app icon in the Applications folder (or wherever you installed it to).
- If you have any problems please consult the Mac OS X troubleshooting page in the first instance.
