The following enhancements have been made since version 3.0.8:
Windows and Macintosh
1. Captioned rectangles, squares, ellipses and circles can now be added to the Floor plan pane to show the locations of objects such as dance floors, podiums and walls. [Added in 3.1.0]

2. Text can now be added to the Floor plan pane as titles, footers and captions. [Added in 3.1.0]
3. The Floor plan, Table plan, Table chart, Guest chart and Statistics panes can now be exported directly to a PDf file without having to use third party software, such as PDF-Creator. PDF files can be printed to large sizes without significant loss of quality. [Added in 3.1.0]
4. There have been major performance improvements for reading in plans, displaying plans and automatically assigning guests to seats. The improvements are particularly marked for large plan files (1000+ guests). [Added in 3.1.0]
5. The Insert guests scratch-pad window has been added. This allows you to quickly add guests by just typing/pasting their names into a text editor, one group per line. This is quicker than using Insert single guest etc. [Added in 3.1.0]
6. PerfectTablePlan can now check for software updates automatically. You can set it to check for updates monthly, weekly or never in the Preferences window (the default is weekly). It will only advise the availability of updates, you still have to download and install the update from a web page. [Added in 3.1.0]
7. If you lose your licence key you can now have it resent using the Licensing>Retrieve key menu item. This accesses the Retrieve key page on our website. [Added in 3.1.0]
8. A How do I? help button has been added to the tool bar. Click on this button to get context-sensitive suggestions of tasks you might need help with. [Added in 3.1.0]

9. A grid can optionally be drawn on the Floor plan pane. The centres of tables, shapes and text can also be snapped to a separate grid. [Added in 3.1.0]
10. The number of total, assigned or unassigned seats can be clearly displayed by selecting the appropriate item from the Tables drop-down list at the top of the Floor plan pane. The appropriate number is shown in the centre of the table. Unassigned seats are shown with a red cross through them. [Added in 3.1.0]

11. Tables, shapes and text in the Floor plan pane can now be ‘moved to back’ to control the stacking order (i.e. which item appears on top of which). [Added in 3.1.0]
12. The Floor plan and Table plan panes are now drawn with anti-aliasing, for smoother edges. [Added in 3.1.0]
13. You can now display RSVP status in the Floor plan and Table plan panes. [Added in 3.1.0]

14. You can now display meals choices using colour codes in the Floor plan pane. Each meal is displayed in a different colour (up to 10 colours). If you have more than one course (e.g. “soup, fish, ice cream”) the courses will be displayed as concentric rings: outer ring=first course, second ring=second course etc. [Added in 3.1.0]

15. Rectangular seats can now be displayed in the Floor plan or Table plan panes by selecting rectangular from the Seats drop-down list. Displaying guest names and various visualisations are not possible with rectangular seats. [Added in 3.1.0]

19. There is now an option to display the group name in Guest chart and Table chart panes. [Added in 3.1.0]
20. There is now an option to sort Table chart guests by seat number, by name or by VIP status then name (previously they were always sorted by seat). Sorting by name is useful if you are assigning guests to tables, rather than seats (you can also hide seat numbers). Individual guest names are sorted by last name then first name. Groups of guests are sorted by the group name. [Added in 3.1.0]
21. You can now choose the format for new table names in the Preferences window. See below for examples. You can rename the tables at any point using the Table properties window. [Added in 3.1.0]

26. The number of guests assigned to seats is now shown in the Status bar. [Added in 3.1.0]
27. Guests can now optionally be auto assigned to seats completely randomly i.e. assigned to seats without taking account of proximity, gender or VIP status. This can be useful for some types of event. Just select randomly from the Auto assign tab of the Preferences window. [Added in 3.1.0]
28. A simple summary of the number of guests, groups, tables and seats has been added at the top of the Statistics pane. [Added in 3.1.0]

29. If you create a stationery item per guest you can now sort the stationery items by table and seat number or by guest name (only by guest name was available previously). To sort by table select Table+seat from the Sort by drop-down list at the top of the Stationery pane. This is only available if Item per is set to Guest. This feature should make it easier to set up place cards if you have hundreds of guests. [Added in 3.1.0]
30. Most windows will now prompt you if you exit without making a change. [Added in 3.1.0]
31. The date format in the Information window and the date/time format of time-stamps now conform to your system locale. For example if you have set your locale to the USA you should see MM/DD/YYYY format dates and if you have set your local to the UK you should see DD/MM/YYYY format dates. You can change your locale through the operating system, e.g. in Windows XP go to Control Panel>Regional and language options. You need to restart PerfectTablePlan after changing the locale to see the effect. [Added in 3.1.0]

39. The names of non-circular/non-square tables are now rotated with the table. This is particularly useful for banquet/head tables with long names. [Added in 3.1.0]

40. Proximity lines are now drawn transparently in the Floor plan and Table plan panes for improved visualisation. [Added in 3.1.0]
41. The shading colour (e.g. used for alternate rows in the Guests pane) is now derived from the theme selected for Windows/MacOSX.
42. The text for a seat (e.g. the name of the guest assigned to the seat) can now expand outside the seat. This allows the use of larger fonts size. But it may also result in separate blocks of text overlapping, so it should be used with caution. [Added in 3.1.0]

43. Printing orientation can now be changed more easily using the orientation drop-down list in the Print window. [Added in 3.1.0]
44. Import of full names such as “Mr & Mrs J. Smith” is now better handled (parsed as “Mr J. Smith”+”Mrs Smith”, rather than “Mr Smith + Mrs J. Smith”). [Added in 3.1.0]
